Get Involved

Everyone can help the flyway grow: clubs, schools, families, veterans, cemetery caretakers and gardeners.

Community garden

Adopt a stop

Service clubs and community groups can adopt a historic cemetery or garden near them. We'll help you reach the owner, plan the planting and add your stop to the map.

Monarch butterfly

Plant a Peace Pole garden

Already have a Peace Pole? Ring it with milkweed and native nectar plants and register it as a Peace Flyway stop.

Painted lady

Collect the passport

Visit stops along the route and collect a stamp at each one. Great for families, scout troops and school groups.

Monarch winter cluster

Volunteer on planting days

Join us on World Bee Day (May 20) and the International Day of Peace (September 21) for planting days along the flyway.

Outdoor classroom

Bring your classroom

Cemetery stops make great outdoor classrooms for local history, science and civics. Students can lead projects through Growing Green Leaders.

Queen butterfly

Learn at the nursery

Bring your club to the Peace Flyway Nursery in Kansas City for a Peace Garden workshop, then take plants home to plant.

Plant nursery

Protect the winter forests

Sponsor bombero training, equipment or trees for the new nursery near the monarch reserve. Learn more.

Monarch on butterfly milkweed

Caretakers welcome

Do you care for a historic cemetery or garden on the route? We'd love to hear from you and connect you with volunteers.
